1987 Fleetwood BounderThat is how the last month of our life has felt!  A completely crazy whirlwind of con-stant-ly changing plans, a moment notice of people coming by to check out some part of selling our house (like our stuff and even our house), more packing and moving stuff around, and 4 very energetic kids!  And now, as I update you all, I am sitting in a rental car on our way back to MN to pick up our NEW TEMPORARY HOME while we build!!!

We are buying an old 1987 Fleetwood Bounder Class A RV.  Yep, that is the plan!  (Check out a cool story on the Bounder here)  We are undecided on exactly where we will build, but what I do know is that we have almost 3 weeks to renovate the back bedroom into a bunkroom for our 4 kids, and move what we will absolutely need to dress, cook, and homeschool while we build our new Tiny Houses on wheels!  I did mention that our journey is an adventure, right?!

1987 Bounder Our New HomeIn 3 weeks from this last Friday, we will close on our house!  So, we need to look for a storage unit for our stuff while we build, do a little renovation on our RV, move what we need into the RV, and many more unexpected little details I’m sure!  This is do-able!  So now we can take a big deep breath, and find comfort in that we will not be homeless!  Also, it’s going to be a GREAT way to test out and get used to living in tight quarters all together!

What can be learned and built into our kids in tight quarters?  I plan on working with them intentionally on Grace with each other, Patience, Respect for other’s things/space, Loving others first, Joy in what we do have, Peace in sharing a room, Kindness, and self-control as we share a smaller water heater, among other things!  It’s going to be a great training ground, as our Tiny Houses will be a tiny bit bigger and have a much better use of space, and personal space!  By the time the Tiny Houses are built, they will be adjusted to a smaller footprint, and living even closer together!

Bounder Family LifeI assume the biggest and first adjustment is going to be all 4 kids sharing a bedroom/sleeping quarters.  It won’t take long for them to learn the golden rule, and that they need to be quiet so everyone can sleep! (I hope!!!)  Over the past 6 months we have been downsizing the amount of toys/things they have so that it’s not like ripping off a band-aid!  They have done amazingly well through the whole process so far, including downsizing their toys/stuff!  They are all still excited for our Tiny Houses and Trinity may just think the RV IS the Tiny House!  In that case, the one’s we build will feel like a mansion to her! J

Last, but not least, we have MORE exciting news!  But….We are not letting that cat out of the bag yet!!!  Ha Ha!  Stay tuned!  Hint: You may just be hearing A LOT more about our journey very soon!

It’s feeling SO real now!  Deep breaths!  Hold on to your seat, if you’re living vicariously through us, the pace is going to start picking up!  Are you ready?!
