denver pic 1Yesterday morning, with much excitement, Darren and I took off from Omaha for Denver!  It started off not so tiny as I battled a pretty BIG nasty headache all day.  Once we finally arrived, we went to Boulder to eat and go on a short hike.  Dinner at Taco was as yummy as it was the last time I ate there…once we finally found it! We stopped at Lush for a couple fun bath bombs to try on our rarely had alone time, and was looking forward to unwinding in a bath after a long day! Yay!  From there a hike was in order, however sunset shortened our hike to about 10 minutes before we needed to head to Denver and greet our other tiny home enthusiasts!  Which leads me to best laid plans do not always work out as we hope.  Our hotel room, though beautiful, has no bath tub!

Denver pic 2I am a type A planner, my husband is a fly by the seat of his pants-er!  So I am learning how to go more with the flow, take things as they come, and remember that it is the Lord who directs our path, and nothing that happens is wasted.  To be honest, I was pretty disappointed that my head hurt so badly yesterday.  I was looking forward to loud music with my husband, sing-offs, and having uninterrupted conversation with my best friend, things that don’t happen very often!  Instead, I wore sunglasses with a sleep eye mask over them to block off the light hurting my head and spend some introvert time relaxing!  God always finds a way to get me to rest!  Point noted…again!

Denver pic 3So far Darren is in his element as we get extremely detailed information on the building process of our tiny home.  Let me just be honest, it is all going WAY over my head, and I’m ok with that!  My part in building our family’s future with Darren is being his right hand WO-man, being supportive, and helping us get things done that we need to do to be ready to shift our life-style to tiny, yet so much bigger!  For those that don’t know Darren well, he is a genius at mechanically engineered projects and building things.  From fixing things at home, to building guitars, to researching replacing our plumbing and doing it himself, fixing cars, problem analysis and house projects…the man never ceases to amaze me with the way God has gifted him!  I do not share the same gifting.  He speaks a different language than me!  I love this!

We fully expect set-backs, trials, to be overwhelmed at times, but that is only a small part of a direction we feel God is calling us to!  This new adventure is so promising on so many levels, and we are ecstatic about it!  I confess as I day dreamed about the areas that I am excited about today (instead of the building process…sorry Andrew Morrison!) I kept landing back at “How soon can we get started?”  Which brings me to my next thought: We need to start praying about a place to live for 6 months while we build, and a tall ware house type building to build in close to that unknown place where we live while we build it!  Please join us in asking for God’s direction there, and if you have any ideas, PLEASE SHARE!!!  I’m SO excited to get started!!!
